Risk Based Inspection (RBI) and Corrosion Risk Assessment (CRA)
TWI has been active for over ten years in the development of RBI and CRA. The 60 years of structural integrity and failure investigation research gives TWI a unique position to develop the technology further across many industries. This had led to the
development of the RISKWISETM suite of
RBI software for various applications, eg
process plant, boilers and tanks. Research
has also led to TWI developing the UK
HSE best practice guide for RBI (available
for free download at www.hse.gov.org) and
other industry sponsored group projects on
the subject of RBI.
TWI process plant RBI studies have led,
where required, to extensions of certification of fitness, for example from the Department of safety
and Health Malaysia (DOSH), Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and Bahrain Ministry of
Labour and Social Affairs (MOLSA).
TWI RBI implementation in Malaysia was started in 2003. TWI has successfully implemented
RBI in petrochemical, power and chemical process plants in Malaysia, e.g: Kerteh Terminals,
Polyplastic, Kapar Power Station, Hume Fibreboard, Dairen Chemicals.
TWI RBI software complies with DOSH requirements and DOSH has certified the reliability of
TWI RBI software in 2007. TWI has helped companies to successfully obtain an extension of the
certification of fitness for plant operation from DOSH.
The company offers software, training and implementation services in RBI and CRA.
